A head of the Congress of all progressives (APC), Edo Oshohon, has declared that an alleged movement of the Chiefs of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) to ensure the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the pending request before the Court of the request of elections on the election of the Government of the State of Edo.

Mr. Osohon made the revelation in a statement on Tuesday.

According to him, the PDP has communicated with certain traditional rulers of the Southwest to help ensure the acceptance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a favorable result in court.

Although he declared that the measure was not successful, Oshohon said that “this desperate offer and the surprising turn of the events by the PDD and its candidate has finally been stable, according to our sources.”

He said: “What we know is that such a plan cannot work. No one can influence the court, who is made of scholarly jurists.

“Those who expect to reach our president to help with his case are on an unsuccessful trip. Mr. President has always allowed processes and systems to work.

“It is unheard of some people even sitting on such an unrealistic strategy.”

“In a short time, it was learned that there is a new plan again to interrupt the court sitting in Abuja, due to what is perceived as the inability of their witnesses who did not present evidence that they won the elections.”

Remember that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Okpebholo the winner of September 21, 2024, the elections after ensuring 291,667 votes against Ighodalo del PDP, who surveyed 247,274 votes.

Since then, the PDP has rejected the result and presented a petition before the court, citing infractions of the electoral law.
