NOA launches an awareness campaign on floods in Jigawa

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Jigawa has begun an awareness campaign against flooding in state communities.

The director of the agency, Ahmad Tijjani, directed a team of NOA social mobilization officers to the Palace of the Bulangu District Chief in the area of ​​the local government of Kafin Hausa on Monday.

Tijjani declared that the initiative was aimed at awakening citizens' awareness about the dangers associated with floods.

He stressed that the recent devastation caused by flooding requires deliberate and concerted efforts of all members of society.

“This initiative is also part of the agency's efforts before the rainy season 2025 to involve and sensitize communities in effective flood mitigation measures,” he said.

Ibrahim Sulaiman, Chief of the district of Bulangu, praised the agency for its commitment to build healthy and safe communities.

“The task of building the nation is a shared responsibility between leaders and followers.

“To achieve the desired objective, everyone must assume responsibility to protect their immediate environment,” Sulaiman added.

He urged residents to avoid practices that damage their surroundings.

The event had a solid technical session educating participants on ecological practices.

Attendees included village chiefs, religious leaders, civil society members and various community organizations.
