The Nigeria Security and Defense Corps, NSCDC, arrested 17 suspects in relation to the vandalism of telecommunications masts and energy facilities in the state of YOBE.
The Special Intelligence Squad of the General Commander, led by the commander when Dandaura made the arrests on Wednesday.
Dandaura said in a statement signed by the spokesman for the body, Afolabi Babawale, that the operation was carried out based on directives of the NSCDC General Commander, Dr. Ahmed Audi, who had expressed a zero tolerance policy for all acts of vandalism and sabotage of National National Critical National Infrastructure.
Dandaura explained that the operation focused on three stores in Damaturu, the capital of the state of Yobe, where the stored items were stolen.
The intelligence collected above indicated that the locations were used as storage bases for vandalized telecommunications masts, energy transmission equipment and railways devices.
According to the statement, the stores are in the Pilgrim Nasarawa Bypass, Dujiya behind the new market and Abari Bypass in Damaturu.
“Acting in the CG March order, we paved three separated stores in Damaturu, Yobe state, since before we gathered the intelligence that there were storage bases for telecommunications masts, energy transmission and railways devices within the scene within the scene of crime.
“The liquidation operation that took hours to discover three warehouses located in the Pilgrim Nasarawa Byepass in Damaturu, another in Dujiya behind the new market, while the third warehouse was discovered in the Bypass of Abari also in Damaturu,” he added.
