A woman identified simply as Jamila is accused of pouring hot water about her friend's daughter, Fatima Sani, causing severe burns and some parts of her skin take off.
The incident occurred in UKU UKU, local government area of Tarauni of the state of Kano.
It was reported that the attack arose from a dispute about a task that Jamila gave Fatima, which meant monitoring her daughter's movements in the neighborhood.
Speaking to Daily Post, the victim, Fatima Sani, explained that Jamila attacked her after he informed her that Jamila's daughter was still involved in conversations throughout the neighborhood despite being warned. This led to a confrontation between Fatima and Jamila's daughter. In the heat of the altercation, Jamila poured hot water in both, causing severe burns.
Fatima revealed that Jamila's daughter also suffered burns and currently received treatment at the hospital.
The grandmother of Fatima, Safiya Sulaiman, expressed a deep anguish for the incident, stating that her granddaughter suffered severe burns on her face and back.
“We have no personal problems with this woman apart from being neighbors. We are asking the authorities to ensure that justice is served, ”said Safiya Sulaiman.
Meanwhile, the suspect, Jamila, is in police custody. The efforts to put their side of the story were not successful since it remains under police investigation.
The spokesman for the Kano State Police command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, declared that he had not yet received a report on the incident, but promised to investigate and provide updates in due time.
