GOV OBOREVWORI HONORED WITH THE EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ICON

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, from the State of Delta, received a merit award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the education sector.

The award was given by the National Association of Students of the State of Delta (Nadesstu Worldwide), together with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NAN), during a courtesy visit at the Government's house, Asaba, Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the president of Nadesstu, the comrade on Monday, said that the prize celebrates the achievements of Governor Oborevwori, including the approval of scholarship payments 2023 and 2024 to 30,116 and 32,028 students, respectively.

He also listed improved access to quality education, improved infrastructure in schools and the promotion of educational reforms that support the development of students as other reasons for the award.

In his speech, Governor Oborevwori expressed his gratitude for recognition and emphasized his commitment to continuous improvements in education within the State.

He highlighted several programs implemented under his administration aimed at providing better learning environments and increasing educational opportunities for students.

The highlights of the visit was the donation of a bus to Nadesstu by the governor and the presentation of the Merit Award Nadestu by the national president, Comrade Wiska on Monday, to his excellence, Rt. Excmo (old man) Sheriff Oborevwori, as a Gold icon of plenipotentiary educational development in the state of Delta.
