The governor of the state of Bayelsa, Douye Diri, has denied accusations that he is responsible for the reality star, the pregnancy of Nengi Hampson.
On Monday, social networks were full of statements that the governor had secretly generated a child with the 26 -year -old Big Brother Naija star.
As the rumors extended, Nengi, a prominent contestant of BBN season 5 (Lockdown), quickly confirmed the pregnancy but refuted the claims that the governor is responsible for it.
Taking X (previously Twitter), he wrote:
“As much as I believe that lies on social networks are not worth my time, I have come to accept that we live in a world where people rush to spread lies without limits. Let me be clear: I am not pregnant with any governor.
“I chose to speak because this is not just an attack against me; It involves people I have in the highest consideration. I will not allow a beautiful and personal part of my life to become something ugly. While I continue taking care of my business and enjoy my pregnancy in peace, I wish you all to love them and a happy Valentine's weekend. “
Reacting to the controversy, Samuel Oredipe, general director of the new media to the governor, dismissed the claim as false and politically motivated.
In a Facebook statement on Monday night, Oredipe made it clear that there was no personal relationship between Governor Diri and Nengi.
The statement says:
“The history of BBN Nengi trends has nothing to do with the governor dire! The Nengi Rebecca Hampson does not have a personal relationship with Governor Diri.
“It is unfortunate that false news suppliers are not happy with the imposing political profile of the governor. Nengi herself has come clean on social networks to discredit her lies. Gistlover mocked again! All false!
“The political enemies of his excellence, Senator Doye Diri, governor of the state of Bayelsa, are working again. What a set of evil people who spread falsehood on a day when the prosperity administration began to mark their fifth anniversary.
“This is a distraction, and some of us are very justified in the many reasons offered to regulate the use of several social media platforms. Unfortunately, while we were inaugurating a new path in Yenagoa, social networks spread falsehoods over the governor. Governor Diri is a man of honor and dignity. “
