The Delta State Police Command has clarified that the reports that claim that a girl tried to steal a newborn from a private hospital along Okere -ugborikoko Road in Warri is false.

The command refuted the statements that circulate on social networks in a text sent daily in Warri by the Police Public Relations officer, SP BRIGHT EDAFE.

Part of the text message said: “False, he did not stole any baby, he just seemed to claim that he has a baby there.”

A video had emerged online from the hospital in the early hours of the day, where a girl was being escorted from the hospital facilities by a police officer.

He claimed that he tried to steal a newborn baby from the hospital, of a woman who, according to the reports, delivered Trillizos, before the children's father caught the suspect and gave alarm.

After the false accusations, the young woman was beaten by a crowd before being delivered to the police.

At the time of this report, no one had been arrested for the false level accusations against the young woman.
