A violent family shock that occurred on Saturday morning in the funeral rite of Emmanuel Agbozo, 78, popularly known as “Nil Oo Nii”, in Nkurakan, the municipality of Yilo Krobo, Eastern Region, made it impossible for the deceased to be buried
When the funeral took a tragic turn, he took the intervention of the police and the escort for the body of the deceased, who lay in the state, to be returned to a private morgue in Huhunya, a nearby community.
According to Ghana Web, an attempt to prevent one of the deceased's children from participating in the funeral rites led to the clash.
Family members accused the individual of leaving his father now deceased during his illness and did not visit him.
In addition, the deceased Agbozo, before his disappearance, had explicitly instructed the family that did not allow the son to attend his funeral.
The violent confrontation looked like the family members tried to enforce this directive by the deceased, which led to a clash with the son that brought some young people to fight the family.
This led to the destruction of the property, and the injuries before the police reinforcements were called to restore the order.
Police, to guarantee peace and avoid greater escalation, ordered that the body be returned to the morgue, and the funeral was suspended indefinitely.
The suspects involved in the clash are currently helping the police with investigations.
