In a message made available on his Facebook page, Hon. Makinde said that he moved the motion of the duration of the road on the floor of the house on December 14, 2021, and that the motion was seconded by Hon. Okwudili Christopher Eze Nwankwo, a member who represents Orumba North/ Orumba South Custsuency Federal of Anambra.
Makinde, recognized the contribution of Hon Festus Adefiranye, a member that represents Odigbo-Aile Oluji/ Oke-Federal Federal who transferred a similar motion in 2023 for the rehabilitation and dualization of that path.
The MHR ranking made specific reference to Sterling's leadership of RT Hon. FEMI GBAJABIAMILA, the then president of the House of Representatives who now serves as Chief of Cabinet of President Bola Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The statement also referred to the strategic leadership of Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the governor of the State of Ondo for making a particular reference to the road when the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, visited the State.
“As a member of the House of Representatives that represent the Federal Circumscrip on that road.
“Hon Okwudili Christopher Eze Nwankwo, a member who represents Orumba North/Orumba South Federal Behituency in the state of Anambra, seconded the motion and all members of the House of Representatives agreed. The then president, now Chief of Cabinet of Mr. President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila said.
“This is an infrastructure movement of a very important infrastructure movement.
“We thank you for your leadership, especially to ensure that reality is realized. The Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State's house, Abuja acted on the resolution of the Chamber and approved N134B for the duration of this path.
“I appreciate my colleague, honey. Festus Adefiranye, a member who represents Odigbo Ileoluji Okeigbo for moving a similar movement in 2023 for the duration of this path.
“I must also thank the governor in constant work of the State of Ondo, his excellence, fortunate Orimisano Ayedatiwa for demanding immediate actions from the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, when he visited Ondo State in September 2023,” Makinde said.
However, the Hon. Abiola Makinde warned that people who are not directly involved in the process that led to the update of this infrastructure feat should not try to prove it; Stating that there was an similar attempt to usurp and take credit for the update of the then Colegio de Education of Adeyemi to a university when they faced incontrovertible facts.
“When Adeyemi became a university, some people went out to claim it as their initiative. It was until we presented documents to refute their statements, which arrested their agitation to usurp the work of others.
“Now, the construction of the dualization of the federal highway of Ore-Endo-Sabor has started, some people are claiming credit for it,” he concluded.
