Ukraine and Russia have changed the guilt of a missile strike in a boarding school that houses people who prepare for evacuation in a part of the Kursk region of Russia in the hands of the Ukrainian forces, killing at least four people.

The Ukraine Army has said that the Russian forces are responsible, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attack had destroyed the boarding school in the border city of Sudzha, “despite the fact that dozens of civilians were there.”

A statement from the Ukrainian army general personnel said Saturday that, from 10 PM (8 PM GMT), rescue efforts to clear the rubble were proceeding.

Four people had been killed and 84 had been rescued or received from medical assistance, according to the statement. Four of the injured were in serious condition.

Russia blamed Kyiv for the deadly strike. “On February 1, the Ukrainian Armed Forces committed another war crime by launching a missile strike directed in a boarding school in the city of Sudzha,” said a statement from the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

Zelenskyy, writing in English in X, said the attack exposed Russia as “a state devoid of courtesy.”

“This is how Russia leaves the war: Sudzha, Kursk region, Russian territory, a boarding school with civilians who prepare to evacuate,” Zelenskyy wrote. “A Russian air bomb. They destroyed the building despite the fact that dozens of civilians were there … This is how Russia freed the war against Chechnya decades ago. They killed the Syrians in the same way. Russian bombs destroy Ukrainian houses in the same way. “

The Ukrainian forces have had stripes in the Kursk region since it organized an important cross -border incursion last August.

Previously, on Saturday, Russia launched a flood of drones and missiles in Ukraine, killing 15 people and damaging dozens of residential buildings, as well as an energy infrastructure throughout the country, Ukrainian officials said.

For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry said in the early hours of Sunday that it was the Ukrainian forces that launched a missile strike at school, saying that the missiles were launched from the sumy region of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the dead number of a Russian missile strike in an apartment block in the Ukrainian city of Poltava increased on Saturday to 14, including two children, local officials said on Sunday. Seventeen people were injured in the attack on the five -story building, said the Ukrainian state emergency service.

Moscow sent 55 drones to Ukraine during the night until Sunday, Ukrainian officials said. According to the Ukraine Air Force, 40 drones were destroyed during night attacks. Other 13 drones were “lost”, probably having been stuck electronically.

Two people were injured in a drone attack in the Kharkiv region, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said Sunday.
