A small medical transport plane has crashed into several buildings in the northeast of Philadelphia, burning houses and vehicles and hurting people on the ground.
Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, a medical aircraft company, said in a statement that the plane was on a medical transport mission on Friday night and took four crew members, a child patient and the patient's escort.
“We know that there will be a loss,” said the governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, during a press conference at the accident scene, qualifying him as a “horrible aviation disaster.”
The emergency teams rushed to the afternoon accident scene while residents full of streets full of burning debris and plane pieces.
The witnesses described a chaotic scene with people who were injured and the flame structures.
The child aboard the plane was receiving attention in the United States for a potentially deadly condition and returned to Tijuana, Mexico, Shai Gold, a spokesman for Jet Rescue Air Ambulance.
The girl was accompanied by her mother, a pilot, a co -pilot, a doctor and a paramedic, said the spokesman.
Gold said that the child's treatment was sponsored by a third -party beneficial organization.
“She fought a lot to survive, and unfortunately, this tragedy on the way home,” he said.
The Mexican consulate in Philadelphia gave a warning about X for Mexican citizens affected by the incident to call an aid line.
The mayor of Philadelphia, Cherelle Parker, said that city officials do not know the number of deaths, but the city is “asking for sentences for anyone and all those who may have been affected.”
“If you see debris, call 911, don't touch anything,” he told the city's residents.
The accident occurred only blocks from the Roosevelt Shopping Center, a three -story shopping center in a densely populated part of Philadelphia, the fifth largest city in the United States.
The area where the accident occurred is full of housing and stores on terraces.
The videos of the online incident show the plane that goes down quickly and caused a large fireball.
The witnesses described the shrapnel of the cars that damage the clash and send burning debris to the streets. The photos of the consequences show fiery cars.
