The interim national president of the Democratic Party of the Main Popile Peoples (PDP), the Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun, has reaffirmed the political maturity and the experience of the party to overcome the challenges caused by some people interested within the party.
I was talking on Thursday at the Northeast PDP Zonal Caucus meeting held in Bauchi as part of the reconciliation efforts in the process.
The interim national president used the occasion to assure the members that the party remains committed and resolved despite the current internal crisis that, according to him, will soon become history.
He stressed that reconciliation efforts are ongoing to foster unity and reduce divisions before the next National Convention of the party.
In his comments, the governor of the state of Bauchi, Bala Mohammed, who spoke on behalf of the governors of the PDP in the subregion, expressed his confidence in the strength of the party and promised the support of the governors by strengthening their structure.
Bala Mohammed, who is the president of the forum of governors of the PDP also expressed optimism that the party would ensure the presidency in 2027, since the Nigerians are tired of the APC error.
The Zonal President of the PDP of Northeast, the Reverend Emmanuel Bovoa, said that the presidents of the United States are doing everything possible to ensure that the structure remains intact before the National Convention and the general elections of 2027.
Also speaking, Senator Abdul Ningi, who spoke on behalf of the members of the National Assembly of the area, urged the members of the party and leadership to remain committed to the ideals of the PDP.
The meeting also provided the opportunity to discuss key issues related to the successful conduct of the next zonal and national conventions of the party.
