In a surprising announcement on Sunday night, the Nigerian music star, innocent Ujah idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, announced an agreement between him and the Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia, to look for divorce after 13 years of marriage.
The news has caused reactions on social networks, with many Internet users that describe the situation as another testimony that “marriage is overvalued.”
2Baba wrote in its publication: “Hello my beautiful people from all federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long. I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while and currently request divorce. Soon I would grant a press release to tell my story, not because it is anyone's right to know about my personal life; But because I love my people and I need to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.”
However, the divorce announcement has triggered reactions in social networks, with many Nigerians collecting sides while showing support to both parties.
An X user, Sansa (@Sansaa60), criticized 2Baba for development, saying that the music legend comes with divorce “after turning it into this bitter version.”
