A fast-moving wildfire broke out near Castaic Lake, 35 miles north of Los Angeles, on Wednesday, forcing many families to flee their homes.
The fire spread quickly and burned 3,400 acres (1,400 hectares) in just two hours. Strong, dry Santa Ana winds made the flames even more dangerous, pushing smoke and embers into nearby neighborhoods.

“I just hope our house doesn't burn down,” said one man as he packed up his car to leave. Police officers canvassed the area and urged residents to evacuate for their safety.
This comes as Southern California is still recovering from recent wildfires that killed more than 25 people and destroyed thousands of homes. Now, families have to hope and pray that the flames don't take everything they have.
