The Niger State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Sunday commiserated with the State Governor, Umaru Bago, and the people of the State over the tragic explosion of a fuel tanker truck that claimed several lives at the Niger Junction. In a statement, the President, Bishop Dr. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, assured the governor that the body of Christ and all Christianity in the state stands in solidarity with him in the difficult times.
According to the CAN chief, who is also the Catholic bishop of Kontagora diocese, “We are deeply saddened by the devastating incident, we stand in solidarity with the state government at this difficult time.
“For us the explosion is worrying, heartbreaking and regrettable; “We specifically stand in solidarity with the Governor and the families of the victims of the explosion.”
Furthermore, he prayed to Almighty God to grant the dead eternal rest and heal the wounded.
Bishop Yohanna also praised the government's efforts to respond to the emergency and provide support to affected families and those still hospitalized.
