As the Anambra State 2025 gubernatorial election approaches, the Ikemba Front, a movement of over 20,000 members across political divides, has endorsed frontline All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Paul Chukwuma, for governor.
Chukwuma, a philanthropist and educationist, is a founding member of APC and former internal auditor of the party, who has constantly rebuilt and repositioned APC, thereby attracting great men and women to the national party.
The founder of the Ikemba Front, Dr. Chidi Okoye, who announced the breakthrough at the end of his endorsement meeting held on Friday in Awka, Anambra State capital, said they would work towards Chukwuma emerging as APC flag bearer as well as mobilize votes for him in the main elections.
It was learned that the endorsement meeting was attended by stakeholders of the group, which included ward executives and LGAs, among others.
The action is seen by many as the biggest challenge to the re-election of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who is to fly the ticket of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), given that the movement is the largest in Anambra and the entire geopolitical zone. southeastern.
According to him, the decision to endorse Paul Chukwuma was based on his excess capabilities, including his intellectual and academic sagacity, and his vision for the people of Anambra.
“We know that he is a man to beat in the APC congress because of his leadership and intellectual capacity. He is a man with the vision and ability to reposition Anambra State. “We have consulted everywhere and we have observed that it is only on the ground.”
He recalled that as a founding member of APC, an ardent supporter and promoter of party activities, Paul Chukwuma made the state and local government offices of the party functional, apart from other kind gestures.
“It was based on what he is capable of doing that members of the Ikemba Front moved a motion for his endorsement. The motion came from the members of the room and was generally supported by all people. I can assure you that he will win. And it will reposition Anambra State,” he added.
He believed that with over 20,000 members of the association and 25 executives per political district, the numerical strength of APC has been increased and capacity strengthened to win the Anambra State elections in November 2025.
