A total of 76 officers of the Yobe State Police Command have been promoted and decorated with their respective new ranks.
The promotion is part of efforts to strengthen the working capabilities of its personnel and invigorate them to give their best in discharging their responsibilities of protecting lives and property as well as maintaining law and order.
The 76 members of the Yobe State Police Command who benefited from the promotions are distributed in three categories: from Deputy Superintendent of Police (ASP) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police (SP ) and Superintendent up to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).
On Monday, Police Commissioner CP Garba Ahmed decorated the promoted officers with their new ranks amid a large crowd of well-wishers, loved ones and government officials.
In his remarks, Garba Ahmed expressed gratitude for the meeting and called on the promoted officers to remain resolute and steadfast in discharging their statutory responsibilities.
He highlighted the importance of defending professionalism and respecting human rights.
The Commissioner of Police also thanked the guests, family and friends, while assuring his unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of all residents of Yobe State.
Some of the promoted officers praised the IGP, Olukayode Egbetokun and the Police Service Commission for deeming them worthy of the promotion, which they said boosts their morale.
They, therefore, rededicated their loyalty to the Nigeria Police Force and assured that they will be professional and diligent in the discharge of their professional duties in their various positions.
One of the beneficiaries of the promotion is SP Dungus Abdulkarim, Police Public Relations Officer, Yobe State Police Command, Damaturu, who was previously DSP.
