I'm not Fela; I can't die for you – Burna Boy

Must Read

Grammy Award-winning Nigerian artiste, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has rubbished comparisons with the late Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

Taking to his Instagram Story on Monday, the singer expressed his frustration over the frequent comparisons being made between him and the iconic musician.

The 'Last Last' singer, who urged an end to such comparisons, stated that unlike Fela, known for his selfless personality, he would rather kill than die for someone.

He also emphasized his commitment to promoting positivity, peace and prosperity.

He said: “Everything Burna boy and Fela talk about must die now. I'm not Fela, I'm BIG7. “I’m all about positivity, peace and prosperity, but honestly, I’d rather kill you than die for you.”

In another Instagram story, he talked about the need for more honesty in 2025.

Taking a swipe at unnamed people, he said: “If you ever lied about buying Sujimoto's house on Banana Island when you were just renting it, do better in 2025. If you ever lied about Elele's house being yours, do it better better in 2025.

“If you have an unoriginal 'Rainbow Daytona,' stop telling people it's real. Do better in 2025.”

“It should be a criminal offense to tell as many lies as certain men. The list can go on and on.”
