At least five people were reportedly abducted by gunmen on Saturday in Obbo-Ayegunle in Ekiti LGA of Kwara State.

The victims were returning to their Odo-Owa base after a marriage ceremony held in Ope town in neighboring Kogi State when they were abducted at around 4pm.

They include Oloye Oyewole Abolarin, the chief of the hunters in Odo-Owa, and his wife, Funmilayo Abolarin, Tunde Oladipo and his wife, and another person identified as Bose, all from Agbele Igbede compound in Odo-Owa community. .

The kidnappers approached the family demanding a ransom of N100 million for their release.

According to reports, family members and the community have initiated contributions to satisfy the kidnappers' demand.

They have also appealed to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and security agencies to come to the rescue of the family.

An unconfirmed report indicated that another kidnapping incident occurred along the Omu-Aran highway on Monday.

Efforts to reach the Spokesperson of the State Police Command Headquarters, Ilorin, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, on Tuesday, were unsuccessful as phone calls and a text message sent to her were not responded to so far. to present this report.
