Nigerian rapper Panshak Zamani, popularly known as Ice Prince, has revealed that financial difficulties prevented him from attending university despite gaining admission.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Listen podcast, the artiste shared how the lack of N20,000 ended his hopes of pursuing higher education.
He said: “I didn't go to university for the N20,000. I had about two weeks to pay that money, but I couldn't raise it in time. “That’s how I lost admission.”
The 'Oleku' singer also spoke about the hardships he endured growing up without parents, explaining that he lost his father at the age of 11 and his mother when he was 21.
He noted that these losses forced him to take menial jobs to support himself, but the financial challenges ultimately proved overwhelming.

“I was the guy who spent at least three weeks at home every term because of school fees,” he said, adding: “I don't have a mother or father. I am an only child. “That's pretty difficult.”
Ice Prince explained that his upbringing was marked by a lack of financial or family support, relying solely on his determination and faith.
He said: “I don't have any uncle, aunt, godfather or godmother on whom I depend. “There has been nothing but God in my life.”
Despite the challenges, the rapper expressed his desire to inspire others, urging them to see his success as proof that perseverance pays off. “I want people to look at my life and say that if I can succeed, then no one will have an excuse to fail,” he said.
