Honorable. Maryam Yusuf Aladi, representative of Ilorin South constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, distributed empowerment materials to about 500 artisans and provided cash and food to 500 widows.
Items given to craftsmen included hair dryers, grinding machines, freezers, sewing machines, welding machines, generator sets and catering equipment. Widows also received essential support in the form of cash and food.
Speaking at the event, the Hon. Aladi expressed his deep gratitude for the trust and support of his constituents.
He highlighted the progress made in the constituency through various initiatives including infrastructure development, healthcare, educational advancement and community engagement.
“This event is a testament to our collective achievements,” he said.
Aladi attributed his empowerment program to the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, whose example inspired his commitment to the well-being of his people.
In his address, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, APC State Chairman, commended Hon. Aladi for prioritizing the well-being of his constituents.
He encouraged her to continue addressing the needs of the people, following the example of the state governor.
Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement, also spoke and emphasized the positive impact when political leaders prioritize the well-being of their communities.

He urged beneficiaries to make responsible use of the items, warning against their sale.
The event, which was attended by several dignitaries, including the representative of the First Lady of Kwara State, Ambassador Olufolake Abdulrazaq, and Hon. Ojo Olayiwola, Deputy Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, was tagged as “Hon. Program to support widows and artisans of Maryam Yusuf Aladi.”
