Legendary Afrobeat singer and instrumentalist Femi Kuti and multi-award winning vocalist and songwriter 9ice have been announced to thrill over 60 African film professionals across the African continent who arrived in Nigeria for the 20th edition of the Afrobeat Awards. African Film Academy, AMAA.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at the Balmoral Convention Centre, inside the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.
AMAA Chief Operating Officer, Tony Anih, recently made this known at the AMAA secretariat in Ikeja, GRA, Lagos.
Anih reported that the 20th edition of AMAA will feature musical performances by some of the biggest and best music stars across continental genres including Yinka Davies from Nigeria, Adeena from Ghana and Naird, a talented guitarist from Ghana.
Reacting to the expectations about the night, AMAA Technical Director Kingsley James expressed that it will be a night to remember as everyone is working hard to make this year's edition unique and memorable like others.

James also noted that the musicians who will perform have been carefully selected from Africa.
“We have an impeccable and African poster that would surprise all attendees. The program would be hosted by Segun Arinze from Nigeria and Joselyn Dumas from Ghana. Legendary star Femi Kuti and Gongo Aso, 9ice for musical performances, will lead the cast. Also scheduled to perform in 2024 AMAA are Yinka Davies, Narh Tettey, Bedwei Kwaku and Adina Thembi. “DJ Kenchello and the band Ebony will also be on the booth to thrill attendees for a memorable night,” he said.
