Paul Scholes, who used to play for Manchester United, has talked about two famous soccer players. He thinks that Rodri, who plays for Manchester City, is better at soccer than Vinicius Junior, who plays for Real Madrid.
Scholes talked about this because Rodri won a big award called the 2024 Ballon d’Or, and some people are surprised he won instead of Vinicius. Scholes shared his thoughts during a chat on a show called The Overlap’s Fan Debate.
During this chat, Scholes and Rory Jennings, a person who talks about soccer on the internet, had a friendly argument. Jennings said he doesn’t think Rodri plays soccer as beautifully as Vinicius does.
But Scholes didn’t agree with that. He said, “I think Rodri is a better soccer player than Vinicius Junior.”
He explained that while Vinicius might help his team win more games, Rodri has a special way of playing that Scholes finds very nice to watch.
