UK Introduces Updated Salary List for Skilled Worker Immigration

Must Read

The United Kingdom has started a new way to welcome skilled workers from all over the world. This is called the Immigration Salary List (ISL). It helps people find jobs in the UK by showing clear paths to work there.

Before, there was something called the Shortage Occupation List, but now ISL takes its place. The aim is to open more doors for people in different jobs and fields.

The ISL is important because it helps the UK find talented workers and fill jobs that need special skills.

The ISL lists 23 important jobs that can get skilled worker visas in 2025. These jobs are in science, tech, arts, and skilled trades. This shows the UK wants all kinds of talented people.

For instance, if you are a biological scientist, you need to earn at least £38,000 a year. If you are a commercial pilot, your salary must be at least £53,900. Jobs like chemical scientist, graphic designer, and skilled worker like a bricklayer or carpenter are included too.

Jobs and Salaries on the ISL

The ISL tells how much money you should earn in each job and what people usually earn in the UK. Here are some examples:

  • Biological Scientists (SOC Code: 2112): Minimum pay is £38,000. Typically, people earn from £47,500 to over £70,000.
  • Chemical Scientists in Nuclear Industry (SOC Code: 2111): Minimum pay is £35,200. In Scotland, they earn from £50,000 to over £80,000.
  • Archaeologists (SOC Code: 2115): Minimum pay is £36,400 and they can earn between £35,000 to £60,000.
  • Graphic and Multimedia Designers (SOC Code: 2142): Minimum pay is £30,960. Their pay varies from £30,000 to £50,000.
  • Laboratory Technicians (SOC Code: 3111): Minimum pay is £28,800, with earnings between £25,000 to £40,000.

Finding and Applying for ISL Jobs

To get a job on the ISL list, you need to look for jobs online, talk to hiring companies, and connect with professionals. Make sure the job meets the pay and other needs. Once you get a job offer, the company will help you with your visa.

You will use the Skilled Worker visa for ISL jobs. This visa lets you live and work in the UK for a time and maybe stay longer or become a permanent resident.
