PDP: We Abstained from Kano LG Elections Due to Undemocratic Process

The new leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State, Yusuf Ado Kibiya, explained why his party didn’t join the local government elections last Saturday. He said the election was not fair or honest.

At a talk in Kano, Kibiya said, “In Nigeria, especially in our state, local elections are never fair. The last election was the worst because from the start, it was unfair. The people in charge acted badly, and things were not done right. Why should we join in something like that?”

Kibiya spoke about what he wants to do as a leader. He said he will make sure that everyone can share their ideas and that every vote is counted correctly. He wants to find good leaders who want to help people in an honest way.

He said the party has made a plan for the next 10 years. They want experts from different jobs to help. All leaders chosen must agree to follow this plan.

“This plan will be made by the people of Kano State, so it fits what they need and dream of,” he explained.

“We will make a place where we can talk about Kano’s problems and think of good solutions. This will include fixing problems with leaders, how organizations work together, and issues with education, religion, and money in our state.

“My leadership will be about being honest and doing things right. We will make it a rule that people must do their best, and nothing less is okay.

“I ask everyone in Kano, in the party or not, to come and help us. Together, we can make the future better for our state. Your ideas and actions matter as we aim for great things and true help for everyone. Let’s work together to make a government that listens, tells the truth, and does a good job.

“Now is the time for us to change, and together we can do it. We can only win if we help each other,” the PDP leader said about his plans for the party and the state.
