Anambra APC Persistently Challenges Bianca’s Nomination for Ministerial Position

Must Read

The Anambra State group of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not happy about President Bola Tinubu’s choice of Bianca Ojukwu as a minister.

President Tinubu’s team announced that Bianca Ojukwu, the wife of a famous leader from the past, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, will be a minister for the Ministry of State for Foreign Affairs. But some people in the Anambra APC group are upset because Bianca belongs to a different party called All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Chief Bunty Onuigbo, who speaks for some Anambra members, didn’t like this decision. Dr. Josef Onoh, who is Bianca’s brother and worked with President Tinubu during his campaign, was also unhappy about Anambra APC’s reaction to Bianca’s nomination.

It’s like there’s an argument starting in the Anambra APC group, as more and more people are saying they don’t like Bianca being picked.

Igboeli Arinze Napoleon, who helps spread the news for the Anambra Central APC, shared a strong message. He said the choice of Bianca as a minister could make the APC members in the area not friendly with each other.

Napoleon mentioned that, “Even though the president can choose ministers, this choice might make problems for our group members.”

He added, “This disagreement shows deeper problems inside the group. We need everyone to work together, and we will soon ask for everyone’s voice to be heard when choosing party leaders.”

Napoleon also criticized Dr. Onoh, who said Anambra APC only gave 5,000 votes to President Tinubu in 2023. Napoleon thought those sayings were silly, and he trusted that most Anambra APC members supported Tinubu.

He stated that Anambra APC was not alone in having trouble during elections. Other places like Osun, Katsina, and Yobe also had issues.

Napoleon wanted to remind everyone that Chief Basil Ejidike is the true leader of the APC in Anambra. There is no split in their leadership.

Dr. Onoh had talked about the votes Anambra got in the presidential election, which were 5,111 votes. But Napoleon pointed out that this was still more than what Enugu State received, which was 4,772 votes.

When someone asked if Bianca was rejected because she is a woman, Napoleon said the party usually supports women. He gave examples of women like Sharon Ikeazor and Senator Margery Okadigbo who have held important positions, and believed they had strong women already within their party.
