Police Arrest Six Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Lagos

Must Read

The Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) in Lagos has caught six people they think used the internet to trick others and hide money. These people are now with the police because they might have done bad things online.

SP Eyitayo Johnson, who talks for the police, said on Friday in Lagos that the police found these people through good tips. The police caught them near a place called AIT Road in Alagbado.

SP Eyitayo Johnson said these people are suspected of doing things like fake love tricks, pretending to be someone else online to steal money, tricks to get fake benefits, using other people’s credit cards, and moving money illegally.

When the police caught them, they found a car, really expensive phones, and strange items like a small coffin, a special bowl of soap, a cow horn, and other magical items.

The police are also checking to see if there are other people who might be doing the same bad things online with them.

The police say that once they finish checking everything, these people will go to court to see what happens next.

The spokesperson shared that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ayotunde Omodeinde, has a message for young people: he wants them to work hard for what they want in life. He said they should stay away from crime and always be honest and committed to their work.

He explained that trying to trick people online, like what some call ‘Yahoo Yahoo’, is not a good or lasting way to live.
