Abia Warriors’ coach, Imama Amapakabo, is excited and hopes his team will finally win against Bendel Insurance this weekend.
Abia Warriors have not yet won a match against Bendel Insurance in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
Last season, Bendel Insurance beat Abia Warriors 1-0 in Benin City, and when they played again in Umuahia, the match ended 0-0 with no goals.
But Amapakabo is hopeful that this time, things will be different.
“There is always a first time for everything,” the coach said to the team’s media. “Each match is different. I was not the coach when they played before, so the past does not matter to me. What matters is doing the right things on the day of the game. This means running faster, jumping higher, shooting better, dribbling well, and defending better. The team that wants to win the most will win,” he said.
