Must Read

A truck and a motorbike crashed into each other in Lagos, Nigeria, causing a crisis. The person riding the motorbike passed away, and their passenger got hurt. The truck driver ran away after the crash.

Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, who is in charge of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), shared this news on Wednesday. Mr. Taofiq Adebayo, working for LASTMA’s Public Affairs and Enlightenment team, also mentioned that the motorbike rider, unfortunately, died and the lady passenger got injured.

Bakare-Oki explained that the crash happened on a Wednesday around Area B, close to Point Road, in Apapa. A vehicle from the Dangote company and a motorbike were involved.

LASTMA officers acted fast. They helped the injured passenger and took her to the Apapa General Hospital so she could feel better quickly.

Both the truck driver and a person helping him left the truck at the crash scene and ran away. But LASTMA officers teamed up with the police from Area B Police Station to take the truck and started looking into exactly what happened.

Mr. Bakare-Oki warned all truck drivers. He said they should be careful about how they drive, drive at safe speeds, and keep their trucks in good shape by checking them often.

He also reminded people riding motorbikes not to drive on roads where they are not supposed to, like big highways and bridges in Lagos.

To make sure everyone stays safe, Bakare-Oki emphasized that everyone using the roads should follow traffic rules closely. This will help avoid sad events like this crash in the future.
