Bauchi PDP Youths Claim Many of Damagum’s Critics Failed to Secure Wins at Their Own Polling Units

Must Read

There’s a bit of a problem going on in a group called the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Some young people from Bauchi State are standing behind their temporary leader, Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum.

The young people say that some folks don’t like Damagum because they couldn’t win their own elections.

Sagir A. Sardauna, who speaks for the young people, told reporters in Bauchi on Tuesday, “We won’t allow anyone to be mean or disrespectful to our leader, Damagum.”

They promised to fight against any unfair attempts to remove Damagum from his position.

The young people want a recent decision made by a court in Abuja to be respected.

They said, “We support our leader, Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum, completely.”

“Damagum has been with the PDP for a long time, since 1998, and has always worked hard for the party,” the young people added.

They praised Damagum for helping their 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, from when he was chosen to when the main election happened.

They also said Damagum helped their party win in Yobe State for the first time ever and is now supporting the PDP candidate for governor in Edo State, who is dealing with some legal issues after the election.

According to the young people, some people are losing their power in their own states and are blaming Damagum unfairly because he tries to keep the PDP together. They think these people want to split the party before the 2027 elections.

The young people accused these individuals of lying and making false claims about their leader.
