Right now, there’s a big problem happening in the Peoples Democratic Party, also known as PDP. A group in the party, which is led by the governor of Bauchi, Bala Mohammed, wants to have a meeting. They asked the court for permission to hold this meeting.
Some time ago, a few governors, also from the PDP and led by Bala Mohammed, wanted to remove the acting national leader of the party, Amb Umar Damagum, from his position. But this caused a lot of arguments and disagreements in the party, especially with people who support a leader in the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. These supporters did not like the idea of removing Damagum.
In response to this, the Federal High Court in Abuja told the party that they cannot remove Damagum. This means Damagum could stay in his position for now.
The group led by Bala Mohammed went to the Federal High Court in Zamfara State to file their request. They hope the court will say it’s okay to have the meeting.
We will learn more details soon, so stay tuned!
