Wike Reveals Reasons for Rejecting Peter Obi’s Presidential Candidacy Amidst Tensions with Obi’s Supporters

Must Read

Once upon a time, there was a man named Nyesom Wike who used to be the Governor of a place called Rivers State. He was talking about another man, Peter Obi, and his friends. They wanted Wike to join their team for a big event called the 2023 general elections, but Wike said no.

Wike thought hard about this. He said Peter Obi and his friends tried very hard to get him to help. But Wike believed that Peter Obi would not win the election, so he didn’t want to waste the votes from Rivers State.

While he was in a city called Port Harcourt, Wike explained, “Peter Obi’s friends really wanted me to help. They know it’s true. But I thought, ‘This won’t work.’ Rivers people should not pick someone who won’t win. There’s also a group trying to team up against us, but I said ‘Enough is enough.’ Now they want to fight us, but really, they are fighting themselves.”

Some people remember stories about the election not being fair. There were talks about people changing the results to help another man, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, from a group called the All Progressives Congress, APC, especially in Rivers State.

There were also stories about bad behavior during voting. Some people said that there were people making voters choose a certain way, and others talked about buying votes.

In the end, Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Peter Obi from the Labour Party each won in 12 states. But the group in charge of counting votes, called the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), said Tinubu won because he had the most votes.
