Messi Becomes All-Time Leading Scorer for Inter Miami

Must Read

Lionel Messi made history on Saturday by becoming the top scorer ever for Inter Miami.

Messi is 37 years old, and he did something amazing. He scored three goals, called a hat-trick, in just 11 minutes! This helped his team, Inter Miami, win against New England Revolution with a score of 6-2. This match happened at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The goals Messi scored helped Inter Miami make a new record in the MLS (Major League Soccer). They got the most points ever in a single season!

Inter Miami ended their season with 74 points after playing 34 games. Their record was 22 wins, 4 losses, and 8 draws. This beat the old record of 73 points that the Revolution had set in 2021.

In the game, Miami was losing 0-2, but then Luis Suarez scored two goals to make it even.

Then, Messi came in and helped make history for the team. Just one minute after he joined the game, he helped his teammate, Benjamin Cremaschi, score a goal. This made Miami take the lead for the first time in the match, at the 58th minute.

Messi, who has won the Ballon d’Or (a big trophy for the best soccer player) eight times, then scored his first hat-trick for Miami. By doing that, he became the top scorer of the club with 33 goals.

Because of Messi and his teammates, Inter Miami became the first MLS team to have more than one player score at least 20 goals in a single season.
