A young man named Tasiu Danlami, who is 22 years old, got badly hurt when he tried to mess with an electricity transformer in a place called Hayin-Nasarawa in Niger State.

After he got hurt, Tasiu was taken to a hospital named Musa Yar’Adua in Sabon-Wuse so the doctors there could help him. The police also caught his friend, an 18-year-old boy named Abba Salihu.

The person speaking for the police in Niger State, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said the police found them both while making sure everything was safe in the area. The police and local helpers caught them while they were doing their patrol at about 5:45 in the morning on October 10, 2024.

The police said Tasiu and Abba were trying to break into a big box that gives electricity to homes, which belongs to a company known as AEDC.

Mr. Abiodun also mentioned that apart from Tasiu and Abba, the police caught six more people who were causing trouble. These people were involved in fights, robbing, and carrying things like sharp objects and cannabis, which is not allowed.

He shared that these arrests happened because there were too many people doing bad things in places like Fadikpe, Kutirko, and Angwan-Kanawa in Minna, the main town in the state.

The bad guys, who were carrying sharp items, were going around and scaring people, especially those who own shops and regular folks walking in the streets.

The police caught people with names like Musa Umar, who is 50 years old, said to be a leader in a place called Kulogbe, 20-year-old Sirajo Isyaku, 18-year-old Yusuf Ahmed from Kutirko, Bashir Yahaya who is also 20, 38-year-old Shuaibu Mohammed from Fadikpe, and 21-year-old Usman Adamu from Sabon-Titi.

The police found 25 packs of cannabis, four phones, a knife, a sword, and sticks with these people, as Mr. Abiodun told everyone.
