One Fatality in Clash Between Residents and Farmers in Bayelsa

Must Read

In a place called Yenagoa in Bayelsa State, two groups of people got into a big fight. One person died, and a farm caught on fire because of it. Let me tell you a simple story about what happened.

There were some farmers from a place called Anambra State who came to Yenagoa to grow crops, like vegetables and fruits, to sell. These farmers made a special place called a farm settlement where they could work and grow their crops.

On October 6, something very bad happened. It was said that a man named Mr. Apah Abel, who was from the Bumoundi community, was killed. People said he took something without asking from the farm, but no one knows for sure if that’s true.

This made the people from the Akaibiri and Bumoundi communities very upset. They decided to take action by setting fire to the farm settlement as a way to show they were angry. This was their way of fighting back.

The police in Bayelsa State found out about what happened. They told everyone to stop fighting and not to take the law into their own hands. They caught two people who they think might know what happened to Mr. Abel. The police want to know the whole truth and promise they will do a good job finding out.

Important people like the State Commissioner of Police and the Deputy Governor also talked to the groups to help solve the problem. They want to make sure nobody else gets hurt and that everyone can live peacefully again.

So, the story teaches us that when we have problems, it’s better to talk and find a peaceful way to solve them instead of fighting. Everyone should feel safe, whether they are farming or living in their own community.
