Once upon a time, in a place called Adamawa State, there was a man who wanted to help two people stop fighting. But something very sad happened.
A nice man named Markus Dali saw Barka Yama and Alex Tari fighting with their fists. He tried to help them stop, just like how a teacher might stop children from fighting. But then, Barka Yama accidentally hit Markus too hard, and Markus got hurt really badly.
All of these people lived in a neighborhood called Sina Kwande in Adamawa’s Michika Local Government Area. The police in Adamawa heard about what happened and took Barka, who is 32 years old, to see the judge at a big court in Yola. They said Barka might be in trouble because he made Markus hurt badly.
A police officer named ASP Francis Audu explained to the people in court that Barka and Alex were fighting on August 30, 2024. Markus stepped in to help, but Barka hit him by mistake. Markus fell down and didn’t wake up, like when someone falls asleep but in a very bad way.
Doctors at the hospital tried to help Markus, but he didn’t make it. It’s like when you try to fix a broken toy but cannot.
After Barka said he was guilty, just like when you say “yes, I did it,” the police asked the court to keep him somewhere safe, like a big time-out place, while they think about what to do next.
A very important judge named Chief Magistrate Muhammed Njidda agreed, so Barka was taken to this safe place while the grown-ups think about how best to handle the situation.
