U-17 Women’s World Cup: Flamingos Aim to Prove Themselves in Dominican Republic

Must Read

Harmony Chidi, who plays in front for the Flamingos, talked about her team’s dreams for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The Flamingos, from West Africa, are one of the strong teams that might win. They got third place two years ago in India, which was a great result!

They were the first team from Africa to do that well.

Chidi scored 12 goals for Nigeria in the games before the World Cup, which is a lot!

She said that they really want to make history by being the first African team to win the World Cup.

“I think the team from before did great and made everyone proud. Now, it’s our turn to play,” Chidi shared with FIFA.com.

“I believe that we can do amazing things. When you see us playing, you can feel how much we want to win. We cheer each other on, even when things are tough.”

The coach, Olowookere, was also leading the team in India last time.

Chidi speaks highly of him, expressing, “I really like my coach because he plans very cleverly. He feels happy when we do things he teaches us in the game. He loves when we aim to score goals and push forward all the time. He doesn’t want us to play backward!”
