Abiodun, Amosun, and Daniel Maintain Influence in Ogun’s PDP – Party Chairperson

Must Read

Abayomi Tella, the boss of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, says that the governor, Dapo Abiodun, is still using ideas from the PDP.

Mr. Tella talked to reporters about this on Monday, right after he started his new job as the party’s chairman.

He claimed that the Cargo Airport, which was built by the governor from another party (APC), was actually an idea from the PDP.

The DAILY POST explains that Abiodun became part of the PDP when it first started in 1999 and even wanted to be the governor in 2002.

Gbenga Daniel, a member of APC, was also a PDP governor from 2003 to 2011, and Ibikunle Amosun was a PDP senator for Ogun Central in 2003.

Tella says that even though Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun switched parties, they are still using PDP’s ideas.

He explained, “You might be surprised to know that the last three governors were once part of our party! Gbenga Daniel, Ibikunle Amosun, and even today’s governor, Dapo Abiodun, were all part of the PDP. If you check carefully, you’ll see they still follow PDP’s plans.

“For example, the Agro Cargo Airport, which is very important, started with the PDP under Gbenga Daniel. Because of this importance, Dapo Abiodun is also focusing on it to make it happen. So you see, they still think like PDP, but sometimes politics can create gaps, and that’s okay.

Talking about making the party stronger by 2027, Tella said he and his team are ready to bring the PDP back to its best.

“I have my plans, but they won’t change what the party stands for. They will work together. I’ve told our new team that we have a big job to do, and that’s the truth.

“I promise the people in Ogun State that the PDP will come together, be full of energy, and be strong, ready to win in upcoming elections.”

He invited any members who were upset to come back, saying the party is ready for the local government elections happening on November 16.
