On October 8th, 2023, Ontario invited 1,727 people to apply to live there forever! This was through a program called the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).
The news from Immigration News Canada (INC) said that Ontario wants more skilled workers. This means they want people who are really good at their jobs to come and work in Ontario.
Why? Because some jobs in Ontario need more workers. They want to fill these jobs to help the people living in Ontario.
The first time they picked people, they wanted skilled trades workers. The second time, they looked for other important jobs.
If you want to be picked, you need to have a good score. This score depends on what you know and what you’ve done in your job. This way, Ontario knows you are ready for the job.
Details About the Picks
The news from INC said that on October 8th, they picked people in two groups:
1. Skilled Trade Jobs: They invited 885 people. They needed at least 48 points to get invited.
2. Important Jobs: They invited 841 people here, and they needed at least 52 points.
You could start applying from October 8th, 2023, and you have until October 8th, 2024.
