FG Unveils 40 Water Projects Valued at N2 Billion in Sokoto State

Must Read

The government has started 40 new water projects in Sokoto State. These projects cost N2 billion.

The goal is to give people clean water to drink, make sure water keeps coming, and help everyone live healthier lives.

The leader for water projects, Alhaji Bello Goronyo, started this work at Sokoto State University on Wednesday, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

“These new water pipelines are meant to make it easier for people to get water, create jobs, and help people stay healthy,” he said.

“We will also come back to work on bigger water projects, like making old dams better and building new ones to help grow more food,” he added.

These projects are part of President Bola Tinubu’s plan to give people hope by making sure there is enough food, creating jobs, and helping farms do better all over Nigeria.

Goronyo is sure that the government’s hard work will solve some big problems in the country.

He also asked people in the areas getting help to take care of these water systems so they last a long time.

More details

The man in charge of the projects, Alhaji Bello Kasim, talked about where these 40 water projects are in Sokoto State.

He said that 11 projects are in the middle of Sokoto and nearby places. These projects help important places like the state water board, Sokoto State University, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, and some other key areas.

The idea is to make sure that big schools and busy parts of the city get clean water first.

The project doesn’t stop in the city. Rural places like Gada, Wurno, Rabah, Gwadabawa, and Illela will also get better water, so everyone stays healthy.

The main plan is to make sure there is always enough water, which will make life better for people all over Sokoto State.

Alhaji Abdullahi Yakasai, who helps the President, said these water projects will make living in Sokoto State much better and fit in with big goals for the country.

Alhaji Yusuf Maccido, who manages water resources in Sokoto State, said these projects will make sure there is more water in a big way in the next two years.

Prof. Muhammad Yerima, who fills in as the head of Sokoto State University, thanked the government for helping out, saying it will really help improve the university’s access to water.
