The temporary coach of the Super Eagles, Augustine Eguavoen, was not happy with how the Libyan team used up a lot of time during their match.
The Libyan team, called the Mediterranean Knights, kept slowing down the game and made it hard for the Super Eagles to play smoothly.
It wasn’t until the 86th minute that Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, a player from Lazio, scored a goal to break the tie between the two teams.
Coach Eguavoen pointed out that the Libyan team only started playing more actively after they let in a goal.
“They are a good team. They should have played more. After we scored, they started playing better,” Eguavoen noted after the match. “They mostly stayed in front of their goal and defended tightly.”
The Super Eagles and the Mediterranean Knights will face each other again in Benina next Tuesday.
