Fubara, Not Wike, Recognized as PDP Leader in Rivers State – Bode George

Must Read

A big member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, is talking about the leader of the party in Rivers State. The leader is the Governor, Siminalayi Fubara. He says everyone in the party should help Fubara do well in his job.

Bode George thinks Siminalayi Fubara and the person who was governor before him, Nyesom Wike, should make peace and be friends again. This will help bring calm back to the state.

There has been a lot of trouble in Rivers State because these two leaders stopped getting along. One of the big problems was that some local government offices were set on fire on a Monday. This happened when new workers were supposed to start their jobs.

On a TV show called Politics Today, on Channels Television, Bode George talked about this issue. He said he really wants the state’s problems to stop. Rivers State is an important place because it has lots of oil, which is good for the economy.

Bode George said he doesn’t want to choose sides between Fubara and Wike. Instead, he wants everyone to be treated fairly and justly in the state’s politics.

He explained that he and other PDP leaders have tried to help Fubara and Wike become friends again. They have talked with both leaders to hear their stories and try to fix their disagreements.

“Justice means knowing who leads the party in the state. It’s not the minister; it’s the governor. So, we need to support the governor,” George said.

He added, “Fubara clearly said he would stay in the party, and then we had an election. I talked with the chairman of the board and tried with some other board members to visit Fubara. We listened to his concerns and then talked to Wike. We asked Wike if we could meet him to hear his side too.”
