The wise group of older members from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State have a message. They want the leaders in charge, known as the Damagun-led National Working Committee (NWC), to stop their plans. These leaders wanted to have a big meeting in Makurdi today, Thursday, October 3.
The elder group thinks this meeting is a trick by the NWC. They believe it is one of many attempts to create problems within the party in Benue. They say these plans are only to benefit a few people’s selfish wishes, and they want everyone to stand against it in a lawful way.
The wise elders of the PDP say that a court in Makurdi already made a rule about this issue. The court case number is MCH/350/2024 with motion Number MCH/1588M/2024. This rule says the meeting cannot happen until everyone hears what the judge decides in court.
Mr. Terngu Tsegba, the leader of the elder group, shared that this planned meeting on October 3, 2024, should be stopped. It is not right for it to happen.
The elder group is asking all party members who follow rules and laws to ignore the message about this meeting. They say holding this meeting goes against what the court decided.
They also told the election group, called INEC, to notice what the NWC is doing wrong. They advised INEC to stay away from this illegal event.
