Wealthy Individuals Exploit Poverty to Gain Admiration from the Impoverished – Wizkid

Must Read

Wizkid, a famous Afrobeats singer whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, said that wealthy people in Nigeria are using poverty as a way to make poor people admire them.

He talked about this while he was having an argument with another singer named Davido on social media on Wednesday.

Wizkid, who started talking about Davido on Tuesday night, continued to say things about him on Wednesday.

Wizkid said he is richer and more successful than Davido, even though Davido comes from a rich family.

He called Davido a “spoilt rich kid” and said that Davido, known for the song ‘Unavailable,’ charges less money for performances than many other singers.

On his social media account, Wizkid wrote, “First, you aren’t as cool as me. You can’t sing or make music like me. You don’t dress as well as I do. You don’t make more money than I do. You don’t have shoes like mine. You don’t really know yourself. You charge less than we do for shows! You are just a spoilt rich kid! I don’t care about your dad’s money—we have ours! Everyone around you is broke. Your lawyer acts funny, always with you, like a comedian. Our lawyers are too busy for that! You kids!”

In another message, Wizkid challenged Davido’s claim of being the “001” or the best in Nigerian music. He said Davido surrounds himself with poor friends to make them admire him because rich people in Nigeria use poverty this way.

“In Nigeria, rich people use poverty so that poor people will follow them everywhere because they don’t want to say the truth about themselves. They call you 001—what a joke! You’re only 001 in your own home. You are the biggest only in Instagram fans!”

“You don’t earn more money than anyone in music here, cheap guy! Everything about you seems cheap,” he said.
