Tinubu Set to Depart Abuja for Two-Week Annual Leave in the UK Today

Must Read

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is going on a vacation. He will leave from the State House in Abuja and travel to the United Kingdom for two weeks. This is part of his yearly break.

A spokesperson named Bayo Onanuga told everyone about this on Wednesday in Abuja. President Tinubu leaves the country today, and he plans to rest and think about how to help the economy while he is on vacation, Bayo Onanuga said.

The president will come back home after the two weeks are over.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will head to the United Kingdom today for a two-week vacation. This is part of his yearly leave schedule.”

“He will use this time as a working vacation to think about the economy and how to make it better.”

He will return once his two weeks are done,” Bayo added.

Cost of President Tinubu’s Travels

Many people are talking about President Tinubu’s trips. Some think these trips cost too much money when the government should be saving.

A report by Newslodge using data from GovSpend by BudgIT showed that the Nigerian presidency spent over N16.06 billion on these trips from June 2023 to May 2024.

Most of this money was spent on the President’s flights, and some more was spent on travels by the Vice President, First Lady, Chief of Staff, and the Presidential Air Fleet.

The Nigerian currency, called the naira, is losing value. This drop has made these trips cost more, making people think the government should be more careful with spending money.

President Tinubu’s Many Trips Raise Questions

President Tinubu goes on many official trips to places like China, France, and then a private visit to London. This makes people talk and create stories.

His official visits are important, but when he stays longer and does not say why, people start to wonder if it is for health reasons. This lack of information makes people talk more and guess about the President’s health and actions.

With so many trips, Tinubu might become Nigeria’s most-traveled president. People are paying close attention and asking more questions because of all this traveling.
