Ogun: TRACE Attributes Road Accidents to Illegal Parking

Must Read

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, also called TRACE, says many car accidents happen because cars are parked badly and illegally.

The head of TRACE, Commander Olaseni Ogunyemi, talked to news reporters at their office in Abeokuta on Monday.

Ogunyemi wants drivers to stop parking cars in random and illegal places. It blocks other cars and makes the roads unsafe. He said TRACE won’t allow this bad parking anymore.

He explained that a car parked on the road can cause accidents. For example, a careless driver might hit a parked car, causing a bad crash. Or, an illegally parked car can block the road, creating traffic jams and accidents. This can lead to people getting hurt or even dying. “Enough is enough,” he said.

Ogunyemi also told all TRACE commanders to start removing any cars parked in ways that block traffic.

According to DAILY POST, Ogun State has many road accidents. From May to June this year, 87 accidents happened and 52 people died.
