Famous Nigerian singer Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, talked about how he deals with the sadness of losing people he loves.
Davido knows a lot about feeling sad. He lost his mom, Mrs. Victoria Imade Adeleke, when he was only 11 years old. He also lost his 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, and friends like Tagbo, DJ Olu, Obama DMW, and his personal photographer Fortune, all in a short time.
In a recent interview with Mystery Fashionist in New York, Davido shared that his faith helps him stay strong despite these sad events.
“I have lost many people. I lost my mom at age eleven. I’m just being strong. I even made a song called ‘Stand Strong.’ I believe that my strength and faith keep me going,” he said.
Davido also talked about some wrong ideas people have about him.
“I think sometimes people see me as unapproachable. Another wrong idea is that people think I am too accessible. I grew up in a big family, so I’m used to having people around me. My talent and success come from God,” he explained.
