A man has been caught by the Adamawa State Police for pretending to be a policeman and taking money from people.
The man, Shafiu Abdulkadir, who is 26 years old and lives in Anguwan Yelwa in Yola North, was caught on Thursday, September 26. The police told everyone about it on Friday.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, who speaks for the police in Adamawa, said Shafiu was taking money from tricycle drivers near Aliyu Mustapha Flyover and Jimeta Modern Market in Yola North.
“We arrested him because we heard that some men pretending to be policemen were scaring and taking money from Keke NAPEP riders,” the statement said.
When we caught him, Shafiu was wearing police-like clothes: camouflage trousers, a black shirt with “Special Force” written on it, and boots.
The police also said they will take Shafiu to court after they finish their investigation.
