The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is facing another big argument. Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, who used to be the National Publicity Secretary of the old New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), is arguing with Tony Okocha. Okocha calls himself the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party.
Chief Eze, a well-known APC leader, says Tony Okocha is just trying to cause trouble. He thinks Okocha is working for the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Chief Eze says Okocha is acting like he is the real leader of the party, even though the court has said Chief Emeka Beke is the true chairman.
Eze is very upset because Okocha has been saying bad things about the judges and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Rivers State. Okocha got angry after the NBA said he shouldn’t act like he’s the caretaker chairman, especially since the court ruled against him.
Eze wants the NBA to take strong steps against Okocha because he is not behaving well and is being very rude in the media.
Eze also wants news outlets to stop calling Okocha an APC leader.
He is also mad at Okocha for saying bad things about Pastor Tonye Cole, who was the APC candidate for governor in 2023. Okocha called Cole a puppet for Wike and Amaechi.
Eze says Pastor Tonye Cole has his own ideas and isn’t controlled by anyone. He thinks Okocha’s comments are not true.
Chief Eze also criticized the APC State Chairmen Forum for supporting Okocha and going against the court’s decision. He says they are working with Wike to create trouble in the party.
Eze made it clear that Chief Emeka Beke is the rightful leader of the Rivers APC, and no tricks or court cases will change that.
He also mentioned that Okocha is not really a member of the APC and is just pretending to be one to cause problems for the party, hired by Wike.
This fight makes things even more complicated for the Rivers APC, and nobody knows what will happen next.
