28 People Killed in Ethiopian Bus Crash

At least 28 people lost their lives, and 19 others got hurt badly after a bus went off the road and fell into a river in southern Ethiopia on Wednesday. Local authorities told us this happened.

This terrible accident took place in the Wolaita region. It is about 400 kilometers (or 250 miles) south of Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

Local officials said the bus went down a steep hill and got very damaged. The roof of the bus was torn off because of the crash.

Rescue teams are still working to find and save people. They don’t know yet how many people were on the bus when it crashed.

Pictures on social media showed the bus in the river. The bus is very damaged. Officials are still trying to find out why this accident happened.

The authorities said they will keep trying to help and save more people from this accident scene.
